Cinnamon Almond Trail Mix

Homemade Trail Mix Recipe Fixin’s

I cannot count how many times trail mix has been clutch in making sure we didn’t drop from delirium after a long day’s hike. We came up with this recipe after finding a few gems at the grocery store… namely the almonds, pretzels and ginger. The almonds and pretzels complement each other perfectly and the ginger gives a nice kick.

The nuts and almonds are a protein pack, but I like the use of crystallized ginger in this recipe because of its anti-inflammatory properties. After a long day on the trail it’s good to treat your joints right with ginger’s anti-inflammatory properties.

  • 1 C. Cinnamon Almonds
  • 1 C. Yogurt-covered Pretzels
  • 1 1/2 C. Roasted Peanuts
  • 1 C. Cranberries
  • 1/2 C. Pumpkin Seeds
  • 1/2 C. Crystallized Ginger

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and divvy up into your preferred trail mix packet.

One note: The yogurt-covered pretzels can get a little gooey if it gets too hot outside, so keep that in mind when you’re taking this mix on the trail — may be best for fall or winter hikes.
