Montgomery Bell State Park Trail Signs

Options galore at MBSP

It’d been a long time since our last outing to Montgomery Bell SP.  We last made it out to MBSP in March of 2010 when we did the Northeast Loop, a 6 mile outing that at that point was my longest day hike.  Our write-up on the Northeast Loop rings pretty true for the Southwest Loop.

This trail is full of lots of watering holes for the dogs, provides a nice variety of standard Tennessee forests and vegetation, and a good mix of manageable hills and flat paths.

Since there’s little variation between the trails, head on over to our post from March 2010, Montgomery Bell State Park – Northeast Loop, for the full rundown.  This trail is definitely one of the most dog friendly hiking trails we’ve found in Tennessee.
